With the new term from 1 Apr 2013 to 31 Mar 2014 (or otherwise stipulated by IDA), there are new criteria and conditions to meet in order to be eligible and qualify for the CITREP Expanded funding support.

What is the objective of CITREP Expanded?
CITREP Expanded is one of the Singapore's government grants established with the objective to accelerate the development of emerging, critical and specialised infocomm skills to meet Singapore's growing infocomm manpower needs in order to remain competitive with the developments in the industry globally and within Singapore.

All infocomm professionals and key non-infocomm professionals that are aligned to the following two (2) identified skill areas, Critical Infocomm Skills (CIS) and Emerging Infocomm Skills (EIS), will benefit greatly from CITREP Expanded funding support.
1. Critical Infocomm Skills (Specialist & above)

2. Emerging Infocomm Skills (Specialist & above)

Who is eligible for CITREP Expanded?
Self-sponsored trainees and organizations sponsoring their employees for those endorsed courses and certifications who meet the following criteria are eligible for CITREP Expanded funding support.
I. Self-Sponsored Trainees must:
- Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Meet the admission criteria set by the Course Provider or Certification Awarding Body (CAB).
- Commerce the endorsed courses or certification examinations between the qualifying term.
- Be enrolled by the endorsed course providers or testing centres before commencement.
II. Organization-Sponsored Trainees
- The sponsoring organization must be incorporated or registered in Singapore.
- Employees of Local Government Agencies (LGA) are not eligible.
- However, LGAs' employees can qualify under the self-sponsored category above.
How to qualify for CITREP Expanded?
Self-sponsored trainees and organizations sponsoring their employees for those endorsed courses and certifications must fulfill the minimum conditions in order to be qualify for CITREP Expanded funding support.
A. For Course and Certification Fees Support
The trainee(s) must complete the endorsed course and pass all examinations required by the certification or post-training assessment within 12 months from the course commencement date:
- Within at least 75% attendance of the training course based on the endorsed roadmap;
- Complete and pass the project work (applicable to EIS with Project Work Component); and,
- Achieve the final certification status (applicable to certificate programme only).
B. For Certification Fees Support
The trainee(s) must pass all examinations required by the certification and achieve the final certification status within 12 months from the commencement date of the first examination. For EIS with Project Work Component, the trainee is required to complete and pass the project work.

Back to TopHow much can you claim from CITREP Expanded?
The trainee or the organization can claim up to 70% of the nett payable course and certifications/ assessment fees (up to a maximum of $3,500 per trainee), dependent on the skill areas of the training courses and certification programmes.

How to claim for CITREP Expanded funding?
The trainee or the organization who wish to claim for CITREP funding must submit their online claim applications to IDA via the online system known as Infocomm Competency Management System (ICMS). After successful submission of online applications, the applicants must submit the supporting documents to IDA (incomplete application without supporting documents will be rejected for processing).
For Self-Sponsored Trainees, the claim application has to be completed by the individual.
For Organization-Sponsored Trainees, the claim application will be submitted by the sponsoring organization.
Back to TopWhat are not supported under CITREP Expanded?
CITREP funding does not support Goods and Services Tax (GST), registration and membership fees, rebates, incentives, discounts and any training grant offered by the Course Providers, Testing Centers or any other organizations in relation directly or indirectly to the endorsed courses and certifications.
Back to TopWhen to submit for CITREP Expanded disbursement?
All claims for CITREP disbursement must be submitted to IDA within three (3) months from completion date of the last examination or final post-training assessment. Please make sure you have a valid ICMS account to submit the claim online and ensure you have also submitted all the necessary supporting documents to IDA as late submissions of whatsoever reason(s) will not be accepted.
