Microsoft Retiring Its Masters Level Certification Exams

Microsoft will no longer offers Masters and Architect training.

Microsoft has made a painful decision to phase-out of its highest level of certifications: Microsoft Certified Master (MCM), Microsoft Certified Solutions Master (MCSM), and Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA) certifications. Microsoft will no longer offer Masters and Architect level training rotations and will be retiring the Masters and Architect level certification exams as of October 1, 2013.

With such a short workaround, it may be a bad news to those who have trained or are in the midst of training to be a MCM/MCSM. However, for those who are interested in obtaining a higher-level training credential in the long term, it may not be a bad news afterall as Microsoft is evaluating the certification and training needs to create a new ultimate peak of the Microsoft Certified program that would be more substanable in the rapidly changing industry. Thou, these certifications will no longer be available to individuals but for those who have earned it will continue to hold the credential without the need to recertify.
